LCA for a Toilet Pack-2

LCA fact - the Life Cycle Assessment of a toilet pack teaches us that:

  • A toilet pack (of +/- 25 kilograms) consumes 56 kilograms of CO2, equivalent over its full life cycle. The production phase accounts for 50% of the total carbon footprint. The global warming potential accounts for 1/3 of the total environmental footprint, excluding the use phase.

  • Toilets from Ideal Standard can be flushed 200.000 times. When you flush your 6-liter cistern with tap water the environmental profile will be dominated by its water consumption and is multiplied by 100. Opting for the 4-liter cistern reduces the total impact with one third. Flushing with rainwater further reduces it to 1%, equal to the impact of production & end of life of the toilet pack.

  • The environmental footprint of production and end of life can be easily saved with the additional consumption of 0,5 kilograms CO2, equivalent through the replacement of the sealing ring, prolonging the life span with an additional 200.000 flushes....
